Director of Global Prevention, Outreach and Advocacy
The road that led me to the fantastic team at HCAI and HIV Advocates began when I first discovered I was HIV-positive and I met my physician who would ultimately become one of the founders of HCAI. That was 30 years ago. But that diagnosis does not define me. Having once been the patient who went to my physician feeling hopeless and unsure, I am happy now being the person who can say, “You’re here now, there is hope, there is a happy future ahead.”
Working at HCAI is how I instill that hope in others. In addition to serving as the Director of Global Prevention, Outreach and Advocacy at HCAI since 2017, I have a degree in clinical nutrition, I’m a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified personal trainer and have been an award-winning bodybuilding fitness competitor. I’m also a licensed real estate appraiser and have worked in public relations for McDonald’s.
Outside of work, I enjoy movies, musicals, margaritas, and shucking my own clams and oysters on the half shell. I look forward to meeting you either at the HCAI offices or at one of our events supporting the LGBTQ+ community and the fight against stigma and discrimination.
